What Causes White Formation On Gums After Molar Tooth Removal?
I had a molar tooth removed 7 days ago and it was healing fine until 2 days ago I felt a strange feeling on the outside of the gum, I looked an there is a centimetre gap on the outside, there's a whiteish colour to my gum, should I go back to the dentist?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the gap that you are experiencing may be due to the reason that the extraction socket might have not completely filled with the scar tissue leading to appearance of gap.. The whitish color can be due to healing tissue or scar tissue that is responsible for gradually filling up the extraction socket with new tissue leading to complete healing of the extraction socket and attaining the normal anatomy of the area... You need not to worry and just take care of maintaining good hygiene and follow instructions given to the by your dentist.. In case if there is some pain or the extraction socket looks empty consult your dentist and get evaluated for Dry Socket that is a painful condition in which there is an inflamed unhealed socket..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
