What Causes White Heads And Pimples On The Chin After Taking Alysena Birth Control Pill?
Hi. I am taking alysena birth control pill more than a year. I actually started taking the pill because of acne problem. My face got clearer except chin part or jawline. I did not have any pimples on my chin before I take the pill, but I have white heads and bumps on my chin now. Should I stop the pill? I am worried to get more pimples if I stop the pill, but my chin doesn t get better.
Birth control pills are used for treatment of acne. But its long term use can itself cause or aggravate acne due to hormonal imbalance. Also birth control pills are used for treatment of very resistant for of acne which is not responding to other treatment options. Advice 1. Stop Alysena 2. Apply locally clindamycin 1% solution/gel at bed time for a month 3. Doxycycline 50 mg daily per oral for 30 days 4. Use Acne aid soap three time daily for cleaning your face 5. Do not squeeze pimples as it will cause scarring 6. Try to avoid use of unbranded cosmetics unnecessarily
Thanks
