Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes White, Indented, Numb And Painful Area On Foot Post Achilles Heel Surgery?
I had achillies heel surgery 5 weeks ago. 2 days after I had to go to the ER with pain on top of my foot. when they unwrapped it there was a .50 size white indention that really hurt and the numb all around it. it still looks raw and hurts and numb around it
The raw white area with pain and numbness indicate possible inflammation or partially healed raw area over the operated part. My guidelines as below: - Local cleansing with antiseptic liquid - Application of neomycin cream if no history of drug sensitivity - Discuss the need of antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines with your doctor during next scheduled visit - Take care to avoid tight fitting shoes or stockings - Keep blood sugar under control
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
