What Causes White Patches On The Chest X-ray?

my sister had undergone TB test- skin test shows 8 mm , but blood test and suptum test are negative..........but chest xray shows a white patches so my doctor suggetsed CT scan..................will it be the findings of the TB or not. Please advise me

Thanks for your question on HCM.
There are many causes for white patch on chest x ray. Common causes are
1. Infiltration mostly bacterial pneumonia
2. Tuberculosis
3. Old scar (healed Fibrotic) lesion. Etc
Since her Skin test and sputum both are negative for TB, white patch is less likely to be of tuberculosis.
CT THORAX gives excellent imaging of lung parenchyma. And thus will be more helpful in rule out above causes.
So get done CT and diagnosed her first.
