Hello,
Welcome to health care magic
White patches(hypopigmented) in children over extremities are commonly due to pytiriasis alba.More common over sun exposed area. They are autoimmune.Decrease by 3months.Treatment is daily moisturizer and good soap and avoiding sun exposure.Other cause is p.versicolor.It is also benign and takes 6weeks.
Vitiligo are depigmented patches.Pure white.you can make out.It requires immediate treatment
