Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello well my question is that there s a lot going on me but is been going on since I was young so but I ve noticed in my nipple area I have these white pimple things at first it was crusty but now it s just the pimples no crust and I have no idea what it is
Commonly pimples in the nipple area are nothing to worry about. It occurs due to blocked hair follicle, yeast infection, areolar glands, etc. Crusts are nothing to worry, they happen due to discharge from the nipple that dries. It could be due to cysts in the breasts, infection or non cancerous tumors.
You are suggested not to touch, scratch or pick. They go away by themselves. Maintain your hygiene, wear loose fitting cotton clothes and comfortable cotton bra. Take regular showers. Howsoever, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist to rule out any developing abscess or breast cancer.
You will have to get mammogram and a few blood workouts done. If the pimples are recurrent you will be treated with a course of antibiotics (Doxycycline). You can apply topical anti fungal ointment in the affected area for relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
