Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had a bowel movement in which there were a few peanut shaped white pieces in my stool. This hasn t happened before but I had recently eaten a lot of peanuts earlier in the week. I m unsure if it s a tapeworm or just the peanuts. Please help. I m a little bit of a hipocondriact and I m sort of freaking out
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have white seed-like objects in stool. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like parasitical infection . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like stool test , ultrasound and endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other conditions . Doctor may prescribe albendazole , hydroxychloroquine , crotamiton along with anti inflammatory . For now eat healthy , drink plenty of water and take one spoon of honey twice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
