What Causes White Skin Growth On The Left Side Of The Tongue?
A few weeks ago I noticed something white on the left side of my tongue so I moved it with my tooth brush and it appears to look like a a small piece of skin that is attached to my tongue it does not hurt unless I try to pull on it. What could it be? I brush my tongue every day and thought maybe that caused it??
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of white skin growth on left side of the tongue which seems to be because of oral candidiasis as its symptoms initially looks raw but progressively it started becoming smooth coating on tongue.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to let debris accumulated in area around tongue. Apply antifungal cream to avoid spread of infection to you. Take clean cloth dipped in cold water and rub it around left tongue area so as to maintain cleanliness. Symptoms will resolve after proper maintenance of oral hygiene and you should take diet rich in multivitamins. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit oral physician once and start treatment after complete examination. Doctor may prescribe antifungal medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
