What Causes White Spots Below The Lower Lip After Using Teeth Whitening Product?
I used a teeth whitening product when I was on a sun bed yesterday and I used a mouth guard that held my lips open. Underneath my top lip is now quite sore and has tiny white spots. Could the white spots be something else or are they there because of the teeth whitening thing?
As per your complain tiny white spots along with soreness of the inside of top lip can be due to chemical injury to the lip mucosa with the chemicals used in the teeth whitening products leading to small ulcers, inflammation and soreness..
As it has happened after using the teeth whitening agent it seems to be most probably due to it..
I would therefore suggest you to clean the area thoroughly with water.. Apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the sores/spots.. Do cool compresses or suck ice.. You can also take Ibuprofen if there is redness and pain..
If still there is no improvement consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
