What Causes White Spots On The Leg And Arms?

hi i am a black woman aged 31 and have had a white spot on the bottom of my leg of around a year. i have noticed recently that they have spread i now have a few on the top of my leg a few on my arms and 2 on my stomach. they dont seem to grow in size but i am noticing them appering more on my body do u think it is Idiopathic guttate as im so scared it could be vitiligo. thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Most probably, it could be Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis in my opinion. If you observe any change in size of lesion or hair over lesion turns white, it could be vitiligo. But, you do not need to scare about vitiligo. Vitiligo is a treatable condition and it is not contagious.
If you observe any rapid change in progress of lesion, please do consult your Dermatologist.
