Hello sir, i have a white spots on my penis. And i also have same spots on other body parts which i showed to dermatologist, she said that it just a white patches and no any infection but maybe due to low pigmentation...and she also confirmed that it is not vitiligo... i did not show my penis to her (that dermatologist....) but i have been prescribed momate cream (mometasone furoate) and melgain lotion to apply on white spots... it helped on other body parts and my white spots on skin fades... but i do not apply those medications on my penis because i have a doubt it may affect my penis in a way to decrease my sexual activeness.... So kindly reply me that clear my doubts... Also that i apply betnovate cream on my penis almost regularaly once a day, since a week only. So please tell me how does it help and how does it affect on my penis and balls below it.... both good and bad ways....
It is nothing but tiny white sebaceous glands (oil producing glands) and normal anatomical variant. They look like small raised flesh colored to white colored round lesions over the coronal area of penis or the head of penis.
They may also secrete small amount of waxy material, which can and should be washed frequently. They usually develop during the puberty and may persist till adult hood.
It has no relations to any sexually transmitted diseases or lack of hygiene. And one does not require any treatment for this. They are more common in uncircumcised men but occasionally seen in circumscribed men.
If treatment is desired, carbon dioxide laser vaporization or electro-surgery may destroy the lesions. Pearly penile papules have no effect at all on sexual activity. So no need to be worried about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
