What Causes White Spots On The Tonsils?

I have small white spots on my tonsils but no other symptoms. I wouldn't have even known they were there except it felt as if something was stuck in the back of my throat. I looked, and there they were. There is only one on each side as far as I can see. I am also 13 weeks pregnant and 18 years old, if that is related.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain small white spots on tonsils with no other symptoms can be tonsil stones that are formed due to calcification of food debris and dirt over the tonsillar crypts..
They can cause inflammation of tonsils as well as bad smell in mouth, although otherwise harmless..
The other cause of white spots over tonsils can be formation of pus pockets secondary to bacterial infection but the chances are less probable as you do not have any other symptoms..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis..
In case of tonsil stones manual removal will be done and preventing its formation can be done with warm saline gargles, gargle with 1:! solution of hydrogen peroxide in water..
Always gargle after meal and limit intake of dairy..
In case of infection antibiotics suitable in pregnancy like Amoxicillin shall be advised..
