What Causes White String In Stool Of A 6 Month Old?
I just changed my 6 month old babies nappy and noticed a long white piece of string in it? Have never seen this before what could it be? I know some white little specks are milk protein but never have I seen a white stringy thing? He is breastfed and I started solids 3 weeks ago?
Based on the history you have shared, it can be simple thread or any remnant of cloth from the babies clothings or diapers accessories.
However less likely to be an isolated worm in such infant with only milk fed and not crawling or having any sources of ingestion of any source of worms.
If the problem persists or gets repeated may need paediatrician review and stool analysis tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
