Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am an African American 40 year old female. I have noticed white pieces of what looks to be flesh or tissue in my urine. No blood was noticed except that the tissue like pieces looked like pieces of skin. Currently, I am not consuming water like I should. I probably drink less than 40 ounces of any type of liquid a day which could include less than 10 ounces of water per day. Could the cause of the flesh like substance in my urine be cause by the lack of water I consume daily? If so, could I drink more water to clear this up?
It is abnormal to find tissue pieces in urine. I suggest you to collect the tissue pieces and submit them to your urologist for ordering histopathological examination. Examination of urogenital tract is also required to look for any abnormality in the tract.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
