What Causes White Vaginal Discharge After Taking Postinor2?

Hi, i had unprotected sex. I took 2 tablets version of Postinor 2. I took the 1st tablet the next day at 4:30pm, and the 2nd tablet exactly after 12 hours after the 1st tablet at 4:30am. Today is the 3rd day since taking it, but I don t feel anything yet. I had whitish discharge from my vagina today, is it normal? Is it normal to not feel anything? Is it enough to take 2 tablets for a month to prevent pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The combined pill contains two female hormones estrogen and progesterone. These pills increase blood levels of estrogen which may lead to an increase in vaginal discharge. Hormonal pills can also alter the vaginal pH causing more rise in vaginal infections. Vaginal infections can cause abnormal vaginal discharge and may require treatment. You have taken both the tablets correctly according to the schedule. Do not worry.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
