What Causes White Vaginal Discharge Along With Burning And Itching In Vagina?

Hi I m Brianna and I would like to ask a question about Viral vaginosis. I m having constant burning and also when I pee a little, Itching, White discharge, Sores, redness, swelling and irritation in the vaginal area. Does it have to do with that problem and can I get treatment over the counter?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
What problem you are having is mixed bacterial and yeast infection of vagina.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Kindly wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon everyday and maintain good genital hygiene.
2. Take a course of antifungal medications like Fluconazole by application in the form of cream or pessary for yeast infection.
3. Take a course of Metronidazole orally for bacterial infection.
Wear loose fitting undergarments and abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
