What Causes White Vaginal Discharge With Swelling In Labia Minora?

I have a red and slightly swollen labia minora on the left side of my Vagina. I have white cottage cheese like discharge and suspect it could be a thrush infection but I am concerned about the redness and irritation. It feels raw and burns. I have orally the herpes simplex virus HSV-1 for 3+ years and only recently found out it can be transmitted genitally. I ve never been sexually active with a partner but I am concerned that I may have transfered it genitally unwillingly due to this redness and rawness. Thankyou

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to yeast infection. Cottage cheese discharge and mild swelling or redness are specific for this. Taking anti fungal creams like miconazole (monistat) for local application will be helpful to clear this. You can also use intimate wash daily to normalize the vaginal bacterial flora and PH. HSV 1 gives oral herpes. It some times can affect genital area. But this usually happens when some one having oral herpes perform oral sex on you. Blistering rashes are specific in such case.
