1.
vaginal discharge could either be physiological [common during
puberty,
menstruation, sexual excitement, pregnancy] or pathological Leucorrhea i.e.[yeast infection, mixed infection] so it is wise to consult an OB & GYN doctor who will do a P.V. [per vaginum] and P.S. [per speculum] examination to note the type of discharge, and look for pathologies like cervical erosion, fibroid, polyp, PID [pelvic inflammatory disease]
2. PS. since thick discharge may also be a sign of pregnancy thus check with UPT [urine pregnancy test]
3. If UPT cpmes out to be negative then it could be mixed
vaginal infection i.e.: bacterial+fungal+ trichomonal thus you might have to take a prescribed course of antibiotic kit and anti
fungal medication both for husband & wife and a medicated pessary for yourself and gel for male partner.
PS. since candidial infection is common in diabetic patients [check with blood sugar], patient taking broad spectrum antibiotics, patients on oral contraceptives and AIDS thus exclude the same.
