What Causes Whitish Mucus Like Discharge During Urination In An Elderly Person?

Yes hello my question involves the elderly man I care for he is 90 years old has had Kidney issues for many years and currently has a foley cath inserted. for the past few days we have noticed a very smelly whitish mucous like discharge thick enough to clog bag is this a sign of kidney failure ?

Understanding your concern. As per your query there is whitish mucus like discharge during urination in an elderly person. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like non-specific urethritis , gonorrhoea or urinary track infection . I would suggest you to consult urologist for proper examination without any delay before the things get complicated . Doctor may order ultrasound , urine test to rule out above conditions and infection in prostate . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for at least week along with anti inflammatory .
