What Causes Whole Body Itching Post A Laparoscopic Surgery?

Hi, my husband had laparoscopic surgery on Tues. to remove gall bladder and gall stones. He asked the doctor why he was itchy and the dr. said it s from the infection (or something like that?) in his system. It s Sat., and he is still itchy some. Is this okay? Thank you!

hi and pleased to answer you
after a gallbladder surgery for gall stones, the major complications is an migration of a small gall stones in the Choledochus or more far away.
ichy sensation in this type of surgery is more related to a ductal obstruction and biliary reflux in blood, this obstruction may be not necessary accompagnied with icter, mostly if the stone is so small.
ultrasound may not be able to depist this small stone but IRM will.
I would like that you do an IRM control.
infection, when it happen, fever is always more than 38.5 °C, and antibiotics generally solve the problèmes.
For that I will refere you to a radiologist.
best wishes and may this help you.
