What Causes Whoosing Sound In Abdomen During Physical Examination?
I just came back from the rheumatologist, with a good report. But during the exam he heard a whooshing sound in my abdomen. He is now sending me for an Ultra sound. Does a whooshing sound generally mean an aneurysm in the abdomen? Or could it be something a little more benign?

Aneurysm will not give any external sound, though its more clinical symptoms. The sound most probably bowel related causes.However if doctor suspecting aneurysm for some reasons - ultrasound will able to detect the pathology. But definitive diagnosis of aneurysm is CT computer tomography.
If there is any other cause the ultrasound will help to narrow down the diagnosis.
