What Causes Yeast Infection After Taking Amoxicillin For Sinus Infection?
I ve been taking amox for a sinus infection but have developed a yeast infection as a result. My dr gave me two 150mg pill of diflucan to take one now and one at the end of the amox series. I d rather quit taking the amox because of it s harshness. Today will be the seventh day of it. Your thoughts? and should I take the second diflucan and when? I took the first yesterday and have had marked relief.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Yeast infection may affect different parts of the body mouth gastrointestinal tract, vagina...Telling us the symptoms and if you did any laboratory tests for confirmation would have been good. However, there are many medical conditions that may give you yeast infection. Some of these causes may include: -Antibiotic use, which decreases lactobacillus bacteria in your vagina and changes the pH of your vagina -Pregnancy -Uncontrolled diabetes -Impaired immune system -Taking oral contraceptives or hormone therapy, which increases estrogen levels I will suggest you finish your antibiotic dose.Yeast infection treatment is with anti-fungi.You may take a single oral dose of the antifungal medication Diflucan Or you may take two single doses three days apart to manage severe symptoms. Hope this will help Best regards
