What Causes Yeast Infection Every Time After Having Sex?

I get a yeast infection every single time my husband and I have sex. The traditional methods for making it better are not working. It is painful. I will get better and as soon as we have sex again, I have another infection. What could be causing this? What should I do?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis should be ruled out by doing swab test. Both you and your husband should be treated. Yeast infection can be managed by applying clotrimazole cream locally. This is available as over the counter in brands like monistat. Bacterial vaginosis can be treated by antibiotics like metronidazole or clindamycin. Using intimate wash regularly will be helpful in normalising vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent getting further infections.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
