Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was prescribed medication from a gyno for a yeast infection. It was a seven day cream insert. After the 6th day I started to have colored discharge. It doesn t smell any different than usual but the discharge color was normal before the meds and after it had a yellowish maybe brownish tint to it (more yellow). That s the only symptom I ve had after the medication. I was tested for stds and came back clean. Don t know why my discharge is this color.
Well, the cause of yellowish or brown vaginal discharge is a common and usually harmless issue. Occasional spotting between periods might have this appearance and can be normal, especially if you're taking low-dose birth control pills. So in most cases this is not sign of disease. If it is, then usually this indicates bacterial vaginosis, STD or polycystic ovarian syndrome. Less common, some other hormonal disorders may be present.
In some cases, however, a yellow or brown vaginal discharge could indicate a serious problem. Although brown and yellow vaginal discharge often does not indicate a serious problem, it should not be ignored if it persists, recurs or is accompanied by other symptoms and then you should see gynecolgosit for further workup. In some cases, a yellow or brown vaginal discharge could indicate a serious problem.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
