What Causes Yellow And White Spots Around Dental Extraction Site?
So I had an extraction for two of my upper teeth two days ago, and within the first few hours when I took out my gauze, I felt a jelly like substance where the extraction was. I think it's my blood clot, and I haven't touched it these yesterday or today. It has some yellow-white spots on it, and I'm really worried. It has a slight dull pain.
Should I take out this clot? It's really worrying me!
As per your complain yes, it is blood clot and yellow, white spots are due to remodelling of clot into healing tissue that will fill the empty socket.. The clot will gradually completely turn into yellowish white structure that will gradually form the underlying bone and overlying mucosa..
So, you should no way remove the blood clot as it is the medium for healing to take place..
You should also take a soft diet and avoid smoking, sucking anything with a straw etc as it can cause clot dislodgement that can cause dry socket that is an unhealed condition of the socket and will be painful too..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
