What Causes Yellow Diarrhea?

My son who is three years old had been experiencing yellow diarrehia. It started on Wednesday of last week where he could not hold anything down and kept vomiting. This lead to his stool pale yellow diarrehia. It has been 5 days and he is feeling better, however, his stool is still yellow in color. What would cause this?
