What Causes Yellow Diarrhoea Along With White Foam In A Toddler?
My 31/2 year old said his stomach (left side) then about 20 mins later started puking. Been three hrs and no more chunky normal puke has been yellow Fluid and white foam for last hour... Is this normal or should we take him to urgent care?? Am worried, and not experienced. Also passed out at 9 and has been in and out since then still talking and getting mad , seems to just want to sleep
The vomiting would likely be due to acute gastroenteritis which is inflammation/infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
The most important aspect of treatment would be preventing/treating dehydration.
Because he is vomiting, he cannot use large amounts of fluids at a time. He should use 1 tsp to 1 tbs initially every 5 to 10 minutes, if this is tolerated then it should be increased.
Oral rehydration fluids, pedialyte or diluted gatorade should be used because these would give back both fluids and electrolytes.
Withhold any solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms and monitor for any signs of dehydration.
I hope this helps
