Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Yellow Discoloration Around A Sunburn On The Leg?
I got a pretty bad sunburn on my leg last Wednesday. I have noticed that around the edges of the most severe spot, the skin has turned a yellowish color. There are no blisters under the yellow skin. I thought maybe some of the clear fluid from a small blister in the center had dried, coloring the skin, but after gently washing, the yellow is still there. Do I need to be concerned about this?
The yellow color in the edges can be related to the process of healing. If you don't see any other changes such as discharge, blisters or pain and itching there is nothing to be worried about.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
