Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! A couple months ago, I (through dancing ballet on my toes) bruised the nail on my first toe when I didn t cut it as I should have. Since then, half my toenail turned yellow and died (I cut that part off, though the rest of my nail is still slowly dying) and there seems to be a thin layer of nail growing where my toe nail used to be. It is completely attached to the skin on my toe, and has started causing pain constantly by what feels like an ingrown toenail. How should deal with this?
The dying nail is due to trauma you caused during ballet dancing.
It might need more than one year for the nail to regrow again.
Please observe if there is any sign of infection. To speed up nail growth can use biotin supplements and keep the nail bed well moisturised by using essential oils like olive or coconut oil.
Hope this helps.
