What Causes Yellow Jelly-like Mucus Discharge From The Anus?
Hi, not sure if I should see my doctor or not. For the past few weeks I ve been getting a yellow jelly like mucus from my anal area when I wipe.. it s not always when I go for a poo either, can be just passing gas. I have also become constipated since this problem. I probably go once every couple of days.. I have been getting a few abdominal pains but I think it s caused by constipation. I just don t understand what the cause of the mucus could be? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It could be due to local inflammation or hemorrhoids.
As of now, you can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and plan for a colonoscopy.
