What Causes Yellow Liquid Discharge From Nose After Sinus Surgery?
For the last few weeks, I have had liquid - yellow color like strong urine leak out of my nose when I bend over. Liquid, not mucous. I haven t had a cold or any sinus issues since I had sinus surgery in March. This is not like any discharge I had then or since. It feels like when I used to have nosebleeds as a kid. There is just suddenly liquid pouring out with no warning.
Hi. Thanks for your query. The yellow colored discharge after sinus surgery like strong urine leak out on bending down is obviously due to infection of the operated are. This is possible as the nasal and sinus area is exposed to the air, being a part of the respiratory system. This liquid would have been a seroma contained in the sinus and that drained suddenly. Another possibility f hte leak of the CSF has to be borne in mind, although this is always clear watery fluid.
I would advise you such a situation the following: Consult the operating Surgeon for clinical evaluation, physical and Endoscopic examination and local treatment is warranted. If required, CT or MRI of the sinuses may be required.
I hope this answer help you.
