What Causes Yellow Mucus Along With Blood In Bowels Of A Child?

Hello, my 6 year old granddaughter has had a history of yellow mucus with bright red blood from her rectum off and on.... often with no stool, just gas and mucus with blood.... she has a lot of GI upset and was scoped upper and lower about 8 weeks ago, all normal except her esophagus was irritated and she was placed on prevacid ER.. i think prevacid.... this eve she complained of her heart hurting and her left arm Feeling funny - she also had two episodes of the bloody mucus.... the GI doc seems not concerned. Help!

Hello,

Blood in stools can be due to gastrointestinal infection. I suggest you to get a stool routine examination and stool culture.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
