What Causes Yellowish Red Epiglottis And Soreness In Throat?
MY EPIGLOTTIS APPEARS YELLOWISH RED AFTER 6 WEEKS OF RECURRENT SORE THROAT. nOW ON CEFUROXIME. FOOD STILL SEEMS STUCKED IN THROAT BUT A AND E DOC WHO SAW ME TODAY SAID EPIGLOTTIS WAS NORMAL. ALL EPIGLOTTIS ON YOUTUBE ARE DIFFERENT FROM MINE IN TERMS OF MY YELLOW COLORED EPIGLOTTIS. IS THIS NORMAL
Noted your history of sore throat, Doctors showed the epiglottis to you on endoscopy and on TV/monitor as Ican think as you have compared with others on youtube. The poicture through camera and as seen on screen can be different if the colors are not adjusted on teh screen. Another reason can be severe edema hence the epiglottis can appear pale or yellow. Sorethroat can be due to allergy viral or bacterial infection. Hence I would advise you teh following: First of all get started or continue on teh treatment as would be advised by an ENT Surgeon on full clinical evaluation and correlation with the reports and ENT Endoscopy. Anti-inflammatory and antibiotics if there is any infection. Voice rest is very important. Take plenty of oral fluids as solid foods may be difficult to swallow.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
