What Causes Yellowish Watery Nasal Discharge And Fever After Taking Clindamycin 300 Mg?
I'm 66, I'm fighting a upper gum infection... Taking clindamycin 300mg 3 x/day... I have occasional yellowish watery nasal discharge...also have a very light fever... Should I go to emergency care for stronger IV antibiotics?? Thanks and have a blessed day!
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain yellowish watery nasal discharge can be due to either viral infection which can even cause mild fever but in case if it is a frequent recurring episode it can be due to sinus infection.. You need not to take i.v antibiotics as of now and can simply continue taking oral antibiotics and along with it you can also take decongestant nasal drops, saline nasal irrigation and steam inhalations.. For fever you can also take Tylenol.. For gum infection along with antibiotics you can apply gum paint over gums, gargle with antimicrobial mouthwash and take vitamic C candies..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
