What Causes Yellowness In Face Along With Elevated AST And ALT Levels?

Hello my 19 year old son was diagnosed with flu by his college health center 1 week ago after 5 days of symptoms. This past Monday 5dayslater, day 10 of symptoms, I went to pick him up for thanksgiving break and his face and eyes were yellow. We went to er and ast was 391 and alt was 518. Chest X-ray and ultrasound were normal. doctor Concluded that inflammation of liver was complication of flu. Discharged and advised to follow up with physician at home for repeat blood work or ER. Pediatrician advised going to Er with hepatologist on staff. My son is feeling better..remaining symptoms mild cough only but headache nausea vomiting Nd fever all gone and appetite returned yesterday? What is likely time frame for lfts to return to normal.
