What Causing Prolonged Delay In Periods And Hot Flashes?

I m 37 yrs. old. I have been experiencing hot flashes for 6 yrs now twice a month and they seem to get real intense a day or two before I start my period. About 5 yrs ago I just quit having periods. I ve been to 2 different gynecologists they put me on hormone pills and they just didn t seem to help at all so I quit taking them. Can you give me any advice?

Hi,

You are suffering from premenstrual syndrome and some hormonal imbalance. You should get your hormonal assays done and then as per there results consult obstetrics and start medication. you should get your ultrasound pelvis done to look for any ovarian cysts that might be causing the symptoms.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
