What Concentration Of Monocef Is Advisable For An Infant With Ear Infection?

My daughter is 17 months old and 11.3 kg weight. Doctor has prescribed Monocef-O oral antibiotic for infection due to ear piercing. But the doctor did not write the "mg". Our medical shop has 50 mg and 100 mg bottles. Which one I should buy for my daughter. Please clarify. Thank you.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Monocef O contains Cefpodoxmine Proxetil. Adult dose is 200 mg. So dose in a 17 months old and 11.3 kg weight should be 50 mg twice a day.
So you should take 50 mg bottle from the medical shop

Hoping your query is solved
