Hi. Im a 25 year-old African male, 5 foot 11, 170 pounds. I had a cold two weeks ago. Which went away. Except the dry cough which started around end of the cold remained. It is mostly a dry cough. No headache. No fever. I have this problem since I was 10 years-old. At least once a year, I get a cold, and get better, but a dry cough stays with me for about a month. Drinking something cold worsens it. The cough is there today. But now two days ago i noticed a rash on my hand around the wrist. I didnt think it was related to the cough. But now I have my doubts. I had been taking Nyquil for a week (not too regularly tho). I bought Robitusin yesterday and on the label it talked about serious conditions with cough that develops a rash. What condition is there that develops a rash with a cough?
Dry cough and rash are related to an allergy. If the symptoms continue I recommend doing the allergy tests for further evaluation.
Meanwhile, I suggest using Nyquil which contains antihistamines and can relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using Calamine lotion for local applications in the rash area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
