What Could RUZ Opacities In X-ray Indicate?

Hi my daughter s recent (as of last week) chest x-ray showed RUZ opacities. She had Tuberculosis about 2years ago and was treated for about 7months. However, there are still signs in the x-ray. Also, it is worth noting that she does not have any problem since her treatment. Can you please advise?

Hi and welcome to HCM. Opacities in Right upper zone (RUZ) of lung fields indicates old tuberculous infection. Tuberculous bacilli has predilections for upper zone. It will causes damage to that area which shows fibrosis on long duration. Since your daughter had TB infection and has completed full course of treatment and she is not having any symptoms, their is need to worry. It only indicates old infection thats all, it will not harm her at present. I think this answer helped you. Regards.
