What Could A Bruise In The Area Of Having A Metal Plate In Femur Indicate?

I have a metal plate in my femur from breaking it a while ago, and I ve noticed that I have a large somewhat rectangular bruise right over where the plate is and it looks kind of gray and has been getting slightly bigger over time. Could this possibly be from the plate rejecting?

Hi welcome to Healthcare Magic. Plate rejecting is one possibility when a metal implant is inserted in the body. Usually plate rejecting will create symptoms like extreme pain, swelling. I suggest you get it examined by your surgeon. It is always safe to get it examined when in doubt. How long is the implant on your body by the way?
Please write to me incase of any other queries. Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Anuja
