What Could A Circular Scab With A Pus Filled Hole Be?

I have a 5 month old daughter who has extremely sensitive skin the day she was born. She has to use certain laundry soap, bath soap, wipes, diapers, etcetera. Last night I noticed some redness on her bottom, I lifed her up to look closer and found a quite large (about the size of a nickel) circular scab with a small hole in the middle thats filled with pus. As I touched it, she screamed. It felt quite swollen. What could this possibly be?

Hi,

This is possibly an abscess or a boil / carbuncle. It should be evacuated / drained and you should take your daughter to your family physician and or nearest hospital. They can do it on out door basis and this can be done within minutes. You possibly has to give her antibiotics as well for few days. Some times analgesics like paracetamol are also prescribed along with the antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
