What Could A Painful Lump In Abdomen, Eased Temporarily By Probiotics, Indicate?
Hi. Female 37. I have a painful lump the size of dime 3 inches or so above my belly button. I ve been experiencing digestive problems for 3-4 weeks with extreme gas and horrible upper abdominal pain. I saw an acupuncturist who said it was a blockage , bacteria-related, and advised me to scale back on my probiotic. The lump went away after the treatment. I saw my doctor afterwards and he said it was a gallbladder attack and advised me to do a gallbladder flush with apple cider vinegar. The lump is now back and very painful. Would either of the above conditions cause a lump?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of a lump of the size of a dime - 3 inches above the belly button, digestive problems for 3-4 weeks, extreme gas, horrible upper abdominal pain, seen the acupuncturist who asked to add probiotics. Another Doctor says it to be a gall bladder attack. As per the history you have provided, this looks to be epigastric hernia as it is central 3 inches above the belly button, causing typical pains. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen and abdominal wall helps a lot. Clinical evaluation and examination will confirm the diagnosis so that a proper treatment will be instituted easily. Also get the blood test for CBC, liver and other tests.
