What Could A Purple Bite On Face Be With Sore Throat?

I have a bite (at least I am almost positive it is a bite) on my face and it seems to be swelling. It has been here for a couple of days and tonight my boyfriend said it is starting to look purple. Earlier today I also started to get a sore throat. Could this be something serious? I am in Chicago IL.

Hello,
You should get a doctor consultation and examination .
There could be a reaction .
Till then you could start with antihistaminic like cetrizine or loratidine or ebastine etc . YOu might also require an antibiotic .If there comes a swelling then there are chance of infection and then abscess formation.
