What Could A Red Lump And Deep Purple Dot On Cervix Indicate?
Hey Dr. C I check my cervix daily to examine and see if there s any change. I check via feelING and via speculum. I know what to look for and what not and how to do it. I have noticed a white spot that will not go away, and now a blackish deep purple dot as well. As well as a lump. The lump is deep red, it s not a polyp. From the opening of the cervix and around it to down all over the lump is deep red and purple. The remaining parts of my cervix are pink like what normal cervix would look like. I have HPV high risk strains 16 and 18 and 8 others. No genital warts. In 2007 I had CIN1, 2009 it was CIN3. Every pap has been abnormal and I haven t had a colpo since 2009. Could it be cancer?
In most cases, bumps on the cervix are benign, or noncancerous, growths, such as polyps or cysts. In some cases, however, they may indicate the presence of cervical cancer. A biopsy is needed for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
