What Could A Stabbing Pain In Chest Indicate, Have Had Pulmonary Embolism?

Hello,I had PE s 13 years ago and again in January 2013. I m on coumadin and monitored closely and my INR is consistantly 2.8 to 3.0. I also have a vena cava filter. Yesterday I had a very sharp stabbing pain in my chest that last a couple of minutes and when away. Do you think it s another blood clot?

in your case, because your INR is well managed and you have a filter in vena cava it is less likely that you have PE.you must get an ECG done and also be evaluated for other causes of pain
