What Could An Infant's Slightly Swollen, Bright Red Big Toe Indicate?
My 6 month old infant has a slightly swollen, bright red big toe. Seems to cause no pain. Doesn't appear to be ingrown but I am not 100% about that. He has had an ingrown toenail before. It is more red this time and if ingrown it is less evident this time. He has a routine appointment in 3 days. Should I take him to the pediatrician tomorrow morning or wait Til Friday? There is no white or pus from toe. I am worried about a tourniquet hair but I don't even know what that is exactly. He seems happy, eating normally. He was fussier than usual last night. Figured it was gas or teething until I saw the toe this morning. I called his pediatrician but may not hear back from her for awhile.
