What Could Be Causing Chest Pain?

38 year old woman 5'3 130 lbs.

Stabbing chest pain on left side only. Have had this before but never lasted all day. The pain takes my breath away. Sometimes it seem to radiate to my back and sometimes my shoulder. It's not consistant but comes & goes. I did have a stress echo done a while ago and it came back fine. I can be sitting, laying down, walking, when it comes on. Doesn't seem to be triggered by anything I do. Did take an antacid to see if that helped but didn't get any relief.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM. Since your cardiac work up is normal,In my opinion you should first consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). Bronchitis and lung infection should be rules out. And x ray , PFT will help you in this. If all comes normal than it must be musculoskeletal pain. If you have stress and anxiety than this may be the cause.
