What Could Be Causing Edema Of Abdomen,leg And Feet Inspite Of Having An Esophageal Tumor?

My husband was recently in the hospital for low h/h.He was given 3units of PRBC and 4units platelets. During a Gastroscopy an esophageal tumor was found.Since he has been home,only 3 days,he has developed severe edema of his abdomen,legs and feet.What could be causing this edema?

HI. The oedema could be because of blockage of lymph glands/nodes by tumor cells or because of compression of veins draining lower body by tumor. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
