What Could Be Causing Intense Itching In Lower Legs?
YES, I Would appreciate your opinion regarding my lower legs (calves). I incur this itching of (L&R) both legs. During the daytime they re all right but when bedtime comes, they begin to itch, and I MEAN ITCH!!! They are on the way of driving me nuts!!! Your expeditious response, to this question, will be grateful appreciated!!! Respectfully, Richard Hyer, Jr.
Understanding your concern. Intense itching in lower legs seems to be due to heat generation caused by friction. It could be due to contact dermatitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Drink plenty of water. - Don't let that area dry and keep applying aloe vera gel or petroleum jelly on a frequent basis. - Maintain complete hygiene and avoid pricking rashes. - Apply calamine lotion and hydrocortisone cream twice daily.
Consult a dermatologist if symptoms keep on persisting and get the treatment after through examination.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
