What Could Be Done For Extreme Back Attack Due To Heavy Furniture Lifting?
think I am facing the sciatic nerve issue ..am 57 male did some extreme furniture lifting 0n the 28th..felt fine..woke up Jan 1st cannot walk...today is the 4th ...still to painful to use the left leg without crazy pain..went to a chiropactor could not stand on his exam table long enough to get a read...exteme pain in my front thigh forced me to a recliner...have had 2 0r 3 of these really bad pain attacks ..first one in that area ..most in the shins...top of leg near groin back of knee now when I try to stand..cannot walk more than a step or two without bailing out with pain..so active ..tennis bike rider ..full time DME..driver ..tanks ..beds.. ...they may have to advance me some PTO already used up 2 days...what about short term disability..can not do my job ....possible behind the desk for a week or so ..???

Hi You should get some 2 weeks rest atleast from weight lifting.Medications like muscle relaxants antiinflammatory drugs may help you to get pain relief.You should get a belt for back also.An orthopedic consultation is necessary.you might need to take some physiotherapy also.Physiotherapist might give you size of belt to buy.Hope this may help you thanks
